The Master of Climate Governance and Risk Management is a premier, multidisciplinary program designed to equip the next generation of leaders with the expertise required to navigate the complexities of the global climate crisis. Offered by the Institute for Climate and Carbon Neutrality (ICCN), and hosted by the Faculty of Social Sciences at The University of Hong Kong (HKU), this program stands at the intersection of science, policy, and finance.

Entrance Requirements
To gain admission to Master of Climate Governance and Risk Management (MCGRM), applicants must meet several criteria. The following requirements are based on 2026–2027 admissions cycle:
1. Academic Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree: with honours from HKU or an equivalent qualification from a recognized institution.
Background: Candidates from business, science, social sciences, engineering, or law are highly encouraged.
2. English Language Proficiency:
(If previous degree was not taught in English)
TOEFL: 80 or above (for tests taken before January 21, 2026) or 4.5 or above (for tests taken from January 21, 2026 onwards).
IELTS: Overall 6.0, with no subtest lower than 5.5.
Note: Tests must be taken within two years prior to September 1 of each admissions year.
3. Professional & Other Requirements:
GMAT/GRE: Not Mandatory.
Referees: Two referee reports required (at least one academic referee) .
Work Experience: Not mandatory but may be considered, particularly for scholarship assessment.
