Overview

The Doctor of Psychology in the field of Educational Psychology [PsyD(Educational Psychology)] programme is designed to train qualified, experienced educational psychologists as competent researchers and specialists in designated areas who can lead research and further develop the profession. Its curriculum and training aim to foster the skills essential to bridge basic and applied research, and to conduct research to promote cost-effective and, high-quality, evidence-based professional practice.

Entrance Requirements

1. A Master of Social Sciences in Educational Psychology degree or an equivalent qualification;

2. Candidates shall be eligible for membership in the Hong Kong Psychological Society, Division of Educational Psychology;

3. Candidates shall preferably have working experience in the field of Educational Psychology; and

4. Candidates shall satisfy the examiners in a qualifying examination, if required.

Faculty of Social Sciences
The Faculty of Social Sciences was established in 1967, and has undergone rapid expansion and significant transformation since. The Faculty has six core Departments/Centre: Geography, Politics and Public Administration, Psychology, Social Work and Social Administration, and Sociology, and Journalism and Media Studies Centre. The Faculty is also the home to eight multidisciplinary research centres. These link scholars in the same field with experts from diversified disciplines in The University of Hong Kong and other research institutions both in Hong Kong, Mainland China and elsewhere in the world; and to provide a convenient focus for research, teaching, professional training, publication and international scholarly exchange and collaboration on specific areas of interest.
