Overview

The Master of Biomedical Innovation (MBioInno) programme aims to address the growing global demand for skilled professionals in developing and translating innovative biomedical and health technology from laboratory to the market and clinics. The programme is designed to equip students with both theoretical and advanced knowledge, as well as practical skills in the field of cellular and molecular sciences and digital health technology.

The programme lasts for 1 year for full-time or 2 years for part-time candidates. The programme is designed to balance structure and flexibility, allowing students to specialise in one of the two streams based on their interests. With a focus on translating advanced biomedical innovations into real-world healthcare solutions, the programme requires students to complete a minimum of 69 credits, including:

- 12 credits of Foundation Courses
- 18 credits of Core Courses
- 18 credits of Specialised Courses in either the ‘Cellular and Molecular Biotechnology’ or the ‘Digital Health Technology’ streams;
- 21-credit Capstone Experience (Capstone Project or Industry Internship); and
- A non-credit bearing Innovator Immersion Programme (for full-time students only)

Courses will be taught in the evenings of weekdays or on Saturdays. Capstone Experience (Industry Internship) will only be offered to full-time students to undertake an industry internship in an external company during daytime. Full-time students will automatically enrol in a compulsory year-long non-credit-bearing Innovator Immersion Programme, which harnesses the non-teaching hours during weekdays to provide enhanced experiential learning activities. Part-time students interested in enrolling in the Innovator Immersion Programme are required to remit an additional fee, which represents the difference between the part-time and full-time composition fees, and part-time candidates need to ensure that they will be able to get sufficient time off from their employers to attend the Programme.

Entrance Requirements
