The Master of Nursing (MNurs) Programme aims to prepare registered nurses for advanced and specialised nursing practice. We provide a broad-spectrum of clinical, community and management study tracks enabling students to develop their specialty areas. Our curriculum benchmarks with the international standard adopted by top university nursing schools in order to align with the ever-increasing professional educational need for nursing specialisation locally and globally. In addition, the MNurs Programme has been recognised by Nursing Council of Hong Kong as one of the local clinical master programmes under the "Voluntary Scheme on Advanced and Specialised Nursing Practice".
The curriculum consists of 2 core courses, 1 concentration course, 3 specialty courses, 3 elective courses and a capstone experience which includes a Translational Nursing Research course and a Dissertation or Clinical Research Project.
Upon completion of the programme, graduates are able to:
apply competently the advanced knowledge and skills in order to promote a culture of professional excellence in nursing practice and lead dynamic changes to nursing practice;
contribute to the advancement of nursing knowledge and practice through research and evidence- based practice;
adhere to personal and professional ethics in health care and advanced nursing practice through critical thinking, reflective practice and lifelong learning;
generate innovative solutions for complex health care challenges to achieve optimal outcomes;
lead, collaborate and coordinate inter-disciplinary team work and communicate with key stakeholders effectively and professionally; and
demonstrate leadership in advanced nursing practice in a chosen specialty.

Entrance Requirements
To be eligible for admission to the curriculum leading to the degree of Master of Nursing, candidates shall:
a. comply with the General Regulations;
b. comply with the Regulations for Taught Postgraduate Curricula;
c. be a Registered Nurse holding a Bachelor's degree in nursing from this University, or from another university, or comparable institution accepted for this purpose; and
d. satisfy the examiners in a qualifying examination if required.

The University of Hong Kong's Medical Faculty is the oldest faculty in tertiary-education in Hong Kong. Its origins go back to 1887, when the Hong Kong College of Medicine for Chinese was founded by the London Missionary Society.
