The Master of Science in Urban Design and Transport [MSc(UDT)] provides a comprehensive, interdisciplinary education designed to equip students with the core knowledge and technical competencies in design thinking, urban design values creation and management, and sciences of urban design and transport. The programme emphasises the integration of emerging transformative technologies, design, and behavioural analytics in an age of great urban challenges. The programme is co-organised by the Department of Urban Planning and Design, the Department of Geography, and the Department of Civil Engineering at the University of Hong Kong.

Programme HighlightsThe programme comprises lecture courses, design studios and capstone education, focusing on urban design and transport in dynamic, high-density urban environments. Through taking elective courses, students are able to develop specialism in a sub-field of transport modelling, development economics and finance, law and development management, housing economics and development.
Career Prospects:Graduates may take up professional positions in governments, NGOs, urban and transport planning and design practices and consultancies in Hong Kong, Mainland China and beyond. Graduates may also pursue further studies in the MPhil and PhD programmes at HKU and other reputable universities around the world.
