Overview
Introduction
The new 2-year MChinMed programme with the streams of Oncology*, Gynaecology, and Acupuncture and Moxibustion aims to provide extensive training which covers in-depth theoretical knowledge in the respective stream, offering potential synergistic effect across different streams, particularly concerning the treatment of common and complicated illnesses. Other than the requisite theoretical knowledge of the respective stream, students are also expected to master the diagnostic and therapeutic means of common illnesses, including the potential adoption of integrated approach of Chinese and Western Medicine (with the use of acupuncture and moxibustion) in the treatment process. The programme offers two pathways, namely project-based and practice-based, allowing a higher degree of flexibility and catering for different students' needs.

Programme Description
The programme bears a total of 69 credits, regardless of streams, the structure of the new curriculum is summarized below:
^Those who opt for project-based pathway will have to complete a total of 12-credit clinical attachment and a 24-credit Individual Project.
#Those who opt for practice-based pathway will have to complete a total of 30-credit clinical attachment and a 6-credit Clinical Report.

Entrance Requirements
To be eligible for admission to the curriculum leading to the degree of Master of Chinese Medicine (regardless of the streams), a candidate shall:
(i) comply with the General Regulations but with a waiver of Regulation G2(b);
(ii) comply with the Regulations for Taught Postgraduate Curricula but with a waiver of Regulation TPG2(d); and
(iii) hold the degree of Bachelor of Traditional Chinese Medicine/Bachelor of Chinese Medicine of this University or a qualification of equivalent standard from another university or comparable institution accepted for this purpose; or a recognized Bachelor's degree in medicine, dentistry, physiotherapy or other healthcare related programme and a recognized diploma in Chinese Medicine from a university or comparable institution accepted for this purpose (for candidates opting for the stream of Gynaecology); or
(iv) hold the degree of Bachelor of Traditional Chinese Medicine or Bachelor of Chinese Medicine of this University or a qualification of equivalent standard from another university or comparable institution accepted for this purpose; or a recognized Bachelor's degree in medicine, dentistry, physiotherapy or other healthcare related programme and a recognized diploma in acupuncture from a university or comparable institution accepted for this purpose (for candidates opting for the stream of Acupuncture and Moxibustion).
(i) comply with the General Regulations but with a waiver of Regulation G2(b);
