Overview

The Master of Arts in Applied Linguistics [MA(AppliedLinguistics)] is tailored for individuals currently teaching or aspiring to teach English at the tertiary level, as well as for those seeking a deeper understanding of language and discourse more broadly. The programme therefore emphasises topics related to the teaching, learning, and applied use of English across various disciplines, including both educational and professional contexts.

Students have ample opportunities to explore the theoretical implications and practical applications of English language studies. The strong empirical focus of our programme is exemplified in various courses and assessments, particularly the capstone project, which equips students to navigate and contribute to the teaching, learning, and practical application of English in diverse educational and professional settings.

We strongly encourage applicants to apply as early as possible and in the main round. Places are limited and offers are made on a rolling basis.
