This programme aims to provide opportunities for graduates with relevant background to be equipped with in-depth knowledge and skills for working in the active field of psychosis, including clinical service, education, public awareness, and research in the field of psychosis.
This is the only taught postgraduate programme locally offering in-depth focus in psychotic disorders in Hong Kong. Our faculty is leaders in the field and professionals from backgrounds including psychiatry, nursing, psychology, research, occupational therapy and social work.
It is anticipated that those completing the study will be ready to serve effectively in various roles (clinical, research, service development, public awareness) and develop into future leaders in the field (such as in early intervention, rehabilitation and case management).
Entrance Requirements
To be eligible for admission to the curriculum leading to the Postgraduate Diploma in Psychological Medicine (Psychosis Studies), a candidate shall:
(a) comply with the General Regulations; and
(b) comply with the Regulations for Taught Postgraduate Curricula; and
(c) hold a Bachelor's degree with honors or the degrees of Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery or a Bachelor's degree in Psychology/Nursing/Social Work/Occupational Therapy or another healthcare related field of this University, or other qualifications of equivalent standard from this University or from another University or comparable institution accepted for this purpose; and
(d) satisfy the examiners in a qualifying examination, if required.
Advanced standing may be granted to a candidate who has successfully completed the Postgraduate Certificate in Psychological Medicine (Psychosis Studies) subject to the following conditions
(a) such course(s) should be completed no more than 3 years prior to the candidate's commencement of the Postgraduate Diploma of Psychological Medicine (Psychosis Studies) curriculum; and
(b) advance standing for up to 12 credits may be granted.
